TMJ Disorder
The Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) provides the mobility needed to bite, chew, swallow food, speak, and make facial expressions. TMJ disorder affects the joint in front of each ear that connects the lower jaw bone (the mandible) to the skull.
Our oral surgeons are available to treat severe cases of TMJ, which are usually a result of severe facial trauma, cysts, or tumors. Surgery may be required to tighten the joint ligament, restructure the joint, or replace it altogether.
